In the final analysis，this is mainly attributable totwo factors-ambition and comfort. Being a civil servant generally means a stable income,enviable healthcare and pension programmes, as well as comfort of life. It's quite anappealing career option to many people.

　　1.每年，中国都有成千上万的人参加各级别的公务员考试，希望成为公务员： “成千上万的”可译为hundreds ofthousands of,这是英语中表达不确定数量时常用的词组，类似的还有hundreds of(成百的)、thousands of(成千的)等等;“希望”可用in the hope of表达;“公务员”可以翻译为civil servant,还可以翻译为government employee。

　　2.成为公务员的狂热并不仅限于文科生，公务员考试也越来越受理工科学生的欢迎：“…的狂热”可用the craze for表示，注意此处介词为for; “限于”可译为belimited to, limit意为“限制，制约”;“文科”可用liberal arts表示;“理工科”用 science and engineering表示;“受…的欢迎”可译为 gain popularity among..., among表示数量在三个或三个以上，be popularwith也可以表示“受…的欢迎”的意思。

　　3.归根到底，这主要有两个原因-野心和舒适：“归根到底”可译为in the final analysis;“有两个原因”即“可归因于两个因素”，可译为be attributable to two factors, to在这里是介词，attributable为attribute的形容词，attribute与contribute (贡献)拼写极为相似，书写时需要格外注意。
