　　农业在中国是一个至关重要的行业。农业发展贯穿了整个中国历史，它在养活中国庞大人口方面，起着很重要的作用。今天，中国是全球最大的农产品制造国和农产品消费国。中国的耕地(farmland)占全球总耕地的10%，但却养活了超过世界总人口20%的人。这种情况给中国带来了巨大压力。中国已经采取了增加农业预算、扩大投资和提高能源效率等措施来减缓这种压力。

This situation puts many pressures on China. Efforts havebeen made by China to increase the budget for agriculture, enlarge investments, andpromote energy efficiency to relieve the strain.
