　　It has become an inevitable trend that people in growing numbers choose to settle down in big cities. There are many factors accounting for the preference of urban life, but what also worth our attention is that there are a host of challenges awaiting us in big cities.

　　The challenges of living in a large city could be listed as follows. To begin with, major cities are characterized by high-speed lifestyle, making it challenging for us to find a optimal balance between the intensive work and a good quality of life. Furthermore, it cannot be overlooked that people living in big cities tend to pay less attention to interpersonal relationships and cannot help feeling isolated. For example, it is in all probability that you do not know the people who live next to you. Last but not least, some areas in large cities, to some extent, can hardly be described as having pleasant living environment with all the pollution.
