　　Deep Springs is an American college. It is anunusual college. It is high in the White Mountains inCalifornia, not in a college town. [29]The campus isa collection of old buildings, with no beautifulclassrooms. The only college-like thing about DeepSprings is its library.Students can study from the18,000 books 24 hours a day. The library is nevercrowded as [30]there are only 24 well-qualified male students at the college. In addition, there are only five full-time professors. These teachers believe in the idea of this college. Theyneed to believe in it! They do not get much money. In fact, [31]their salaries are only $9,000 ayear plus room and meals.
